The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water Review

I'm finally doing another movie review. Today is going to be a review on the second Spongebob movie that came out last year. The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water.
he creator of Spongebob Stephen Hillenburg made his comeback to write the story for this film and it really shows Hillenburg at his best. This is not only better then the first Spongebob movie, but I honestly like it better then anything else in the Spongebob franchise. It's that good.
there's a number of things going on in this film, a Piret named Burger Beard uses a story book to steal the Krabby Patty formula.
everyone in Bikini Bottom goes crazy and Plankton is accused of the crime and when Spongebob helps him, it results in a buddy comedy between the two.
For the first thing I love about the movie is the quality of the animation. It's a really nice mixing of the current animation of the show and the first film and it's always stunning to look at.
I also love how there allot of callbacks to early Spongebob episodes. Plankton and Spongebob teamed up and start a friendship like they did in "F.U.N" Spongebob is seen with a reef blower from one of the first episodes, we even see Bubble Bass from "Pickles" make an appearance. The movie is loaded with tons of fun moments that feel very nostalgic and feels like it could have been made during the first 3 seasons.
I like this film better then the first movie, while the first one was good, I feel this movie was much more of what you would expect from a Spongebob movie Don't get me wrong, the first movie did a great job turning Spongebob into a big epic and emotional adventure, but keep in mind Spongebob was never about that kind of stuff. This movie however takes all the nautical nonsense and wavy fun of the show and puts it to the extreme.
This also is a multi media film. It uses CGI when the characters go on land to face Burger Beard, there a character Bubbles who is stop motion, and most of the film is in 2D animation which it's fantastic to see a traditional animated film again. However, trailers of this movie were misleading and audience thought that this would be a CGI film, and I'm glad it ended up surprising me and allot of others.
I think that's all I have to say for this review. Overall I definitely recommend this movie, if you're a Spongebob fan or if you grew up with Spongebob in your childhood or even if you're not really a Spongebob fan and if you're in the mood for a colorful, fun animated movie this is definitely worth a watch.
I do have to say however, I'm surprised this movie has hardly gotten any award nomination, I mean I know it was nominated for Favorite Animated Movie at the Kids Choice Awards, but that's it though.
I'm glad this movie was a success and I look forward to the third Spongebob film, and I hope the success of this movie will lead to more 2D animated theatrical movies based on TV shows. I know we're getting an Adventure Time movie and I'm really excited for that.
