Marry Christmas, Drake and Josh Review
Okay, so today I'm reviewing a made for tv Christmas film based on the Nickelodeon classic sitcom Drake and Josh. While I do find Drake and Josh a bit overrated at times it's still a great show and I enjoy rewatching it, and this movie was made not too long after the original series ended and aired back in 2008 and it got some of the greatest ratings for a TV movie.
But how was the movie. Well, it was okay. There were some parts I really enjoyed and some I didn't. My first problem with the movie is absolutely hate Megan in this movie. I mean, she cuts an awesome inflatable snowman Josh makes and she's just really unlikable throughout this movie. I know she's evil on the show, but she's more evil in a funny way. I really didn't like her in this movie.
I must also say that the movie is way too mean spirited towards Josh. I mean, he gets taken to jail for no reason, and most of the characters treat him like a sack of shit.
I forgot how much torture Josh went through in the series. Hell, even Freddie from ICarly and Robbie from Victorious didn't go through what poor Josh had to deal with, but Josh does make friends with his prison roommate and I have to say I really enjoyed that character.
I think the movie did have a sweet story with Drake keeping a promise to the little girl to make her Christmas good, but a lot of the movie focuses on too much drama and and there's not enough moments that made me laugh. I mean, it's not a bad thing, but when it's a movie based on such a comedic show like Drake and Josh I really expect more laughs. There are some great jokes like when Drake gets chased by the crazy girl in a Santa suit. I really loved that scene.
Overall, I thought the movie was decent, not really great, but not bad. If you're a big fan of Drake and Josh I would say this movie is worth a watch, but I would recommend just sticking with the show itself. Because it's better in my opinion.
